In the end of January (21. 1. - 25. 1. 2008) our class - 1. A had a language week. It was fantastic because we didn´t learn any other subjects. Every day we had only five lessons of English and we did various interesting things.

On Monday we made three groups and we started with some competitions. Also we started to prepare projects about our school, our town and our country. In that day we started to write a script for fairy-tales about Cinderella, Gingerbread house and Little Red Hood, too. In the end of that day the best group with the most points won stickers.

On Tuesday we were ending our projects and plays. After difficult script writing we played other games like Five against five and we filled in a test about Great Britain.Then we played a detective story. In this game we looked for the murderer of a servant.

On Wednesday we already played our plays. It was very funny because the groups changed the stories – they were modernized. After the plays we presented the projects. Everybody won the stickers because we were very clever and assidous.

A visitor from England, Mr. Phill Richardson, came on Thursday. All the day we were talking about our country and his country. He said that Slovakia is a beautiful country and people are kind and hospitable. He thinks Slovak women are prettier than English women. We agreed with him. We gave him a present – a T-shirt with a typical Slovak picture.

On Friday we were on a trip in Žilina at Bilingual grammar school. We were at three lessons of English and one lesson ef Economy. It was interesting. At this school all subjects are taught in English. We had free time in the centre of Žilina after the visit.

This trip was a relaxing way how to finish our language week successfully. We think it was interesting because we learnt some new things, improved our communication and had a lot of fun.
